Peacock-blue. ‘Pfau’ is German for peacock. Pronounce the ‘Pf’ the same way you’d exclaim ‘Pfffff!’, though it’s a shorter. The ‘au’ is pronounced similar to “Ow! (that hurt), but sounded more from the back of the throat.
As with all my turquoise and teal colours, the photos don’t do it justice - digital cameras struggle with these tones and I had to do a fair bit of tweaking to get anything close to an accurate representation. In real life, it’s so much richer.
Photo 2 shoes ‘Pfau’ on top and ‘Steal’ below.
‘Big Boy DK’ - an 8-ply/DK weight yarn, 100% non-superwash Corriedale yarn that is woollen spun, making it warm, light and lofty. 100g = 300 metres (approx).
My yarns are dyed in my studio in London, using professional acid dyes and professional techniques.
My home and studio are smokeless. We do have a cat, but he’s not allowed in my room and he doesn’t knit, but I can’t rule out the possibility of a stray cat hair getting in to the yarns.
As with any hand dyed yarn, hand washing in cold water is recommended. Whilst I do my best to ensure there is minimal, if any, bleeding, I can't make a 100% guarantee that my more saturated colours will not bleed a tiny bit - due to the high saturation of this shade, it may bleed a little more than some of my other colours.
Please note - due to variations in monitors etc., colour may appear slightly different in real life. I do, however, try my very best to accurately represent my wares.
